Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for embedding and maintaining the governance arrangements expected of an authorised ESG rating provider, supporting Sylvera's ongoing regulatory obligations, working closely with the global team to address regulatory issues and ensure compliance.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Advise senior management and the board on regulatory compliance matters and provide regular compliance reporting;

  • Develop, maintain and enforce compliance policies, procedures and monitoring programmes, including periodic assessments;
  • Maintain appropriate records to demonstrate compliance to ESMA on request;
  • Identify, manage, mitigate and disclose actual and potential conflicts of interest and maintain a conflicts of interest register;
  • Deliver training to relevant staff on regulatory obligations and policies and monitor compliance internally; and
  • Promote a culture of compliance across the Irish entity and the wider Sylvera group.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a minimum of 3-5 years' relevant compliance experience
  • Is based in Ireland.
  • Has experience developing a regulatory framework within a start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Has working knowledge of the ESMA regulatory framework applicable to ESG ratings including governance, conflicts-of-interest and internal-control requirements.
  • Has experience analysing, assessing and managing regulatory and compliance risks.
  • Has experience designing and implementing effective systems and controls for regulatory and governance.
  • Has experience of engaging with a regulator.
  • Has strong drafting, verbal, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Can work autonomously while collaborating with a global team.
  • Is familiar with the voluntary carbon market and/or ESG data and analytics is desirable.

We'd like someone highly ambitious, motivated and eager to propel their career forward. We prioritise grit, positivity, and the willingness to get stuck in, and encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't exactly match this job description.

Benefits:

  • Equity in a rapidly growing startup
  • Private Health Insurance and Life Assurance
  • Unlimited annual leave - and encouragement to actually use it!
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Up to 20 days paid sick leave
  • No corners cut in having the best tech to do your job

  • Stay curious: We take a growth mindset to our work, our customers, our market and the opportunities ahead of us.
  • Do what's right - even when it's hard: We keep our focus on the long-term, even if that means short-term challenges.
  • Collaborate with empathy: Our teams deliver through active collaboration. We invest in each others' success and make the company stronger in the long-run.
  • Empower Customers: Make extraordinary efforts to exceed our customer expectations. If we're serving our customers to the fullest, we can help direct more investment into real climate impact.
